Met Gala 2021: Celebs show off lavish outfits this year

The Met Gala is typically held on the first Monday in May, but the event was postponed this year due to COVID-19 and has fallen right in the middle of September. Celebs kicked off the fashion’s biggest and most experimental night held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The gala will be in celebration of the Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” which opens to the public in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18th. So, stars embodied the theme of American style on the red carpet, whether through flashy and gaudy outfits or beautiful and breathtaking pieces, and even sometimes outrightly outrageous ones.
