Atif Aslam has been actively producing music in the last few months. He released a
naat, a few covers, originals and recently a highly anticipated single as well. While everyone loves him as a musician, fans got even more excited following reports of him making his acting debut on television in the sequel of drama serial
Sang-e-Mar Mar.
After much wait and anticipation, Atif took to Instagram to finally share that he has signed his first TV drama.
“Hello from the sets of
Sang-e-Maah,” he shared a video to make the official announcement. “Yes, I am doing a drama serial and I need your blessings. You have always showered me with your love, and I hope you do the same this time,” Atif added.
Sang e Maah is the sequel to 2016’s superhit drama
Sang e Mar Mar directed by Saife Hasan. It starred Kubra Khan, Sania Saeed, Naumaan Ijaz and Mikaal Zulfiqar in key roles.
The singer has already made his acting debut with Shoaib Mansoor’s hit film
Bol in 2011. He was paired opposite Mahira Khan who will also be featured in his upcoming song titled
Ajnabi
He concluded the video by sharing news of the upcoming song. “Before this drama, I will be releasing something very soon,” he shared the big surprise. His song featuring Mahira Khan is all set to release within a few days and it will be their first collaboration after 10 years. The music video of the song is directed by Asim Raza.
“Here’s a little weekend surprise for all my fans. Enjoy the first teaser of my new song and let me know what you think about it. And be on the lookout for this song as it’ll be releasing very soon,” he shared.
