Ali Gul Pir is well known for his comedic skills and the art of tackling societal stereotypes through satire and music. His foray into the industry is also attributed to the famous song
Waderah Ka Beta in which he sang about the VIP culture, and since then he has many such numbers.
On Valentine’s Day this year, Ali made an unusual announcement with a Save the Date invite, and many thought that he is hinting towards his wedding on 14th February as he was recently engaged. However, it turns out that the comedian was talking about his new song,
Cousin Dhazan, which is dedicated to all those cousins who eventually ended up marrying each other.

“A love song for cousins who grew up together and then ended up marrying each other. I bring you Cousin Dhazan! Special thanks to Lenny Massey,” read the description of his song on YouTube.
The music video features Ali along side actor Rose Muhammad as jazzy notes plays in the background with Lenny Massey on his saxophone. Ali sings a hilarious rap on how a cousin turned wife or husband is such a funny yet problematic concept in our society. He points out that in these marriages, either of the maternal or paternal sides are same, sometimes even grandfathers are same, but now she is
meri biwi jo pehle bolti thy mujhey bhai [my wife who used to call be a brother earlier].
“I’ve always found it funny how you grow up with your cousins, call them bhai or api then one day your parents decide that you will marry one of them. Now suddenly, it’s bhai to charpai! Love can be awkward. That’s my new song
Cousin Dhazan,” he wrote on his Instagram.
