Pakistani-American singer Arooj Aftab has provided us another occasion to celebrate. The two-time Grammy nominee was recently featured on Times Square Billboard as Spotify’s Ambassador for EQUAL Pakistan.
As per Spotify’s statement, the popular streaming service’s initiative, EQUAL, aims to celebrate women creators by giving them a platform to share their content with the world.
The official Spotfity Pakistan’s account shared a picture and praised her achievement.
“This is a sign – Arooj Aftab has entered New York Times Square. Congratulations to #EQUALPakistan’s artist of the month.”
Arooj Aftab, who recently performed Mehram in Coke Studio season 14, is now representing women creators of Pakistan at a global level. As part of the initiative, Spotify’s EQUAL Artist of the Month will be featured on a rotational basis on the digital billboard advertisement in New York’s Times Square, USA.
The singer also shared a picture on her Instagram in which she is sitting like a boss lady in front of the digital billboard.
“All day, only today, on rotation, at every New Yorkers favorite hang, Times Square. Thank you Spotify and Spotify Pakistan, this is definitely epic,” she wrote in the caption.
