Red carpet report: Best dressed female stars at the HUM Awards 2022

Beautiful dresses, glittery make up, dazzling accessories, lots of glitz and glam are the highlights of any award night. The star-studded gala night of the 8th HUM Awards, held in Toronto, Canada, over the weekend was no different. The ceremony saw the who’s who of our entertainment industry on the rec carpet.

Much like previous award nights, sequin saris remained celebrity favourite as many stars were seen sporting the trend. Predictably, there wasn’t much harmony in styles, colors or silhouettes, and the list of faux pas outweigh notable fashion moments.

Nevertheless, amidst a fun and entertaining gala, few female stars took out breath away as they brought out their fashion A-game to represent Pakistan in North America.

Sequined saris

Hania Aamir was all shimmer as she donned a silver heavily sequined and embroidered sari. She tied her hair in a bun with a center parting and  wore minimal accessories.

Sonya Hussyn stole the night with a powder pink sequined sari by Farah Leghari. She paired a gem encrusted halter neck blouse, dangling earrings and a dewy makeup to complete the look.

Gowns that wear the crown

Iqra Aziz looked resplendent in a Nomi Ansari princess gown. All white with a shimmery graphic printed flora and fauna was complemented with her sleek center parted hair.

Aymen Saleem channeled her inner diva which she has rarely shown in her characters on TV. She looked like a doll in an exquisite ivory Swirl Sculpture gown by Gaurav Gupta.

Ushna Shah looked ravishing in a red fishtail gown by Asim Jofa but as stunning as it looked in pictures, it was extremely difficult to walk in it

.

Saboor Aly also looked glamourous in a classic Audrey Hepburn inspired looked. The black Sania Maskatiya dress had a majestic aura accentuated by a multilayered choker. However, the drool-worthy look fell short when it wasn’t carried with aplomb.

Go gaga over Ghararas

After saris, ghararas are the most adaptable eastern wear to don at an international event, but if done right. Mahira Khan looked every bit of a black beauty as she walked the red carpet in a dazzling black number by Nomi Ansari. The dress was sheer in parts and heavily adorned with sequins work.

Fusion that stands out

Reema Khan represented Pakistan in an emerald green fusion ensemble by Parniyaan by Ayesha Jawad. The dress had an asymmetrical cut with multiple drapes and a shirt with a peplum.
