Veteran comedian Umer Sharif has boarded an air ambulance and is on his way to the US for medical treatment.
The air ambulance will take him to Washington DC via Germany. His wife Zareen Umer and a six-member medical team are with him.
“Umar Sharif sb is on his way to the airport for his flight to Washington. Plz remember him in ur prayers,” Sindh Government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab had announced.
The ambulance landed in Karachi on Monday morning but Umer Sharif was unable to board immediately. His doctors had advised against air travel.
“Umer’s BP dropped too low and because of that Doctor’s didn’t permit him to travel in Air Ambulance,” reported his wife.
After several tests, he got permission to fly from his medical team.
The veteran had made a video appeal to Prime Minister Imran Khan to help him secure a visa to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Following the unfortunate news, many celebrities took to social media to pray for Umer Sharif’s health and speedy recovery. They also requested fans to do the same. Actor Reema Khan had also announced that her husband, cardiologist Dr Tariq Shahab, had agreed to perform his surgery.
